What Are You Reading?

Updated: Feb 6, 2021

Whenever I talk with other entrepreneurs about what I am starting to do with my business and building a passive income for myself I get the same question. What are you reading?

What are you reading?

At first I would look very confused at them. What am I reading? I honestly didn't have a good answer. I wasn't reading anything. I'm sure that like most of you the excuse is that if you had more time you would read more books. Let's be honest this pandemic sure showed everyone that we were lying. It's not that you had no time to read before, it's because Netflix has an awesome show that you have to binge and spend hours watching. I completely understand. My excuse is because I'm a Technical Recruiter and my job is to read hundreds of resume every day. If I'm not getting paid to read, I'm not reading. Which hello, is super stupid. I just didn't want to sit down, stop what I was doing, open up a book, and read.

So I finally started the journey back to reading. The number one easiest ways to start reading when you think you don't have time is Audio books. Audio books are the easiest and most accessible way to read. You don't even need an audible account to get started. All you need to do is go on YouTube and find the book you want to read and get started. That's how most people are reading right now but if you like to hold a book in your hands, then go grab one, open it up, and get started. Nothing beats opening a book and digging into the information that you can gleam from successful people.

Where do I start?

Now I'm a entrepreneurial reading novice but I started with the tried and true book, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. I then read the 4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss. The most important books you need to go and explore are books that are targeted to change your mindset. Becoming an entrepreneur is not easy and most people don't naturally have the knowledge or mindset to successfully navigate this path. Reading books that focus on changing the way you think while on this journey are key. Below are some of the books I am working through to help me with my mindset and can help you on the path to entrepreneurship. Check them out and feel free to make some suggestions on what I should add to my Que.
